TANAY, RIZAL – The San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish in Tanay has joined churches and organizations nationwide in urging government officials to address corruption and uphold accountability.
The initiative comes after reports of alleged anomalies in several government projects, which have prompted nationwide calls for transparency.
As part of the parish’s participation, parishioners are invited to wear white during Mass on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in observance of the Araw ng Panalangin at Pananagutan (Day of Prayer and Accountability).
Also, white ribbons have also been placed around the church gates and patio as symbols of hope, unity, and the demand for integrity in governance.
In its announcement, the parish emphasized that the act of wearing white extends beyond attire, symbolizing sincerity and the collective prayer for the country. “Higit pa sa kulay ng ating damit, nawa’y maging puti rin ang ating puso—busilak, tapat, at handang manalangin para sa bayan,” the statement read.
The parish also called on the faithful to stand together not only in the Eucharist but also in efforts that seek light, justice, and peace.
The activity coincides with rallies being staged today at Luneta, the EDSA Shrine, and other parts of the country, where groups are pressing for reforms and accountability in government.
Yesterday, a prayer for peace was also held in the parish.
The parish’s campaign aligns with similar actions by other religious and civic organizations, underscoring a growing call for public officials to uphold ethical leadership and respond to concerns over corruption.
