TANAY, RIZAL – The Social Human Action Ministry (SHAM) of San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish, in partnership with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Friends Foundation, Inc., conducted the outreach program “Kalinga ni San Ildefonso” on October 4, 2025, at Sitio Maysawa, Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal.

The event was held in celebration of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month.

A total of 180 Dumagat-Remontado beneficiaries received assistance through the outreach activity.

The program included the distribution of food packs, school supplies, and basic household items. Short livelihood talks were also conducted to support the community’s long-term development and self-sufficiency.

The event was organized to promote solidarity and compassion for indigenous brothers and sisters, who continue to preserve their culture and traditions amidst modern challenges. Volunteers, parish ministries, and youth members participated in the activity, making it a meaningful expression of Christian service.

In his message, Rev. Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado emphasized that serving the poor and marginalized is at the heart of the Church’s mission. “When we extend help to others, we extend the hands of Christ Himself,” he said. He also thanked all volunteers and donors for their commitment to the outreach project.

The day ended with a prayer of thanksgiving and a blessing for the indigenous community. Kalinga ni San Ildefonso stood as a testament to the parish’s ongoing mission to serve those in need through faith, compassion, and action.
