TANAY, RIZAL – The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) issued a circular on October 12, 2025, encouraging the faithful to wear white every Sunday in October and November and to display white ribbons in homes, churches, and public spaces.

The call was a nationwide prayer movement for transparency, accountability, and renewal in public life.

The directive invited the faithful to offer the gesture as a symbol of repentance and hope that the nation may be renewed in God’s mercy and spared from further calamities. Parishioners of San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado, responded to the call during Sunday Masses and parish activities.

In his homily, Fr. Delatado explained that wearing white is not only a sign of purity but also a public act of faith and moral commitment. “The color white reminds us of our baptismal promise—to reject sin and live in truth,” he said. “Through this act, we pray that our country may be cleansed of corruption and strengthened in righteousness.”

Parish ministries and organizations joined in the movement by displaying white ribbons at the church entrance and in their homes. The effort reflected unity in prayer and a collective desire for social and spiritual reform.

The initiative continues throughout the months of October and November, reminding the faithful that national transformation begins with personal conversion. The parish remains steadfast in praying for transparency, accountability, and good governance under the intercession of San Ildefonso de Toledo.
