ANTIPOLO CITY, PHILIPPINES – Amidst the serene surroundings of the Antipolo Cathedral, the Coast Guard Ecumenical Chaplain Service led a Eucharistic Celebration of the Holy Mass for Peace on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10 AM.

This event, hosted by the Coast Guard Eucharistic Chapel, underscores the power of prayer in fostering global peace and unity, especially on the rising tension in the West Philippine Sea between the country and China.

The ceremony, presided over by the Coast Guard Ecumenical Chaplain, aims to unite hearts in prayerful reflection under the patronage of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, also known as Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje.

The revered Marian figure holds special significance as the patron protectress of the entire Philippine Coast Guard, embodying hope and protection for seafarers and peacekeepers alike.

The occasion brought together members of the Coast Guard community, alongside clergy and faithful from across the region, to beseech the intercession of Mother Mary and her son, Jesus Christ, for tranquility and goodwill throughout the world.

After the Holy Mass, a motorcade to the Philippine Coast Guard Base Farola commenced, followed by a solemn procession back to the CGECS chapel.

As the world faces ongoing challenges, the Coast Guard’s initiative to convene for prayer underscores a collective commitment to seek divine intervention in times of uncertainty.

The ceremony not only reinforced the spiritual aspect of the community but also highlights the Coast Guard’s enduring dedication to safeguarding peace and security across the seas.
