TANAY, RIZAL — The vibrant festivities in honor of the upcoming Fiesta of Tanay and the Feast Day of San Ildefonso de Toledo began with an inspiring and solemn event on the afternoon of January 12.

The opening salvo marked the start of the celebrations, which will culminate in the Feast Day on January 23.

The program commenced at 4:30 pm, set against the theme “San Ildefonso at Maria: Haligi ng mga Namamanatang Manlalakbay ng Pag-asa sa Taon ng Hubileyo,” highlighting the central role of San Ildefonso and the Blessed Virgin Mary as pillars of hope for all believers.

The event began with a prayer, followed by an insightful message from Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado, parish priest of the San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish.

Fr. Delatado’s words emphasized the significance of the upcoming fiesta, urging the community to deepen their faith as they prepare for the Feast of San Ildefonso.

This was followed by a thought-provoking talk titled “San Ildefonso: Kapelyan at Tagapagpatotoo ni Maria,” which explored the life of San Ildefonso as both a priest and a witness to the faith of Mary, the Mother of God.

An open forum allowed the parishioners to engage with the speakers, asking questions and offering reflections on the theme.

The lively discussions were followed by intermission numbers, providing a brief but heartfelt respite before the next part of the program.

Sis. Lina Tanjuatco, President of the Parish Pastoral Council, took the stage to announce the activities planned for the Fiesta 2025.

The festivities reached their spiritual climax when the opening of the exhibit dedicated to San Ildefonso and the replicas of the revered saint was conducted.

The display also featured relics of Franciscan Saints, showcasing the deep religious heritage of the parish and the broader Tanay community.

These sacred items were blessed, marking a moment of reverence and commitment to the upcoming Fiesta.

With the opening salvo concluded and the exhibit in full view, the official celebrations for Fiesta 2025 were now in motion.

The entire parish is gearing up for the Feast Day on January 23, with excitement building for the events and gatherings that will take place in honor of San Ildefonso de Toledo.
