TANAY, RIZAL– San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish proudly hosted its 91st Grand Santacruzan, a vibrant celebration that honored the Flores de Mayo, a cherished tradition in the Philippines that pays homage to the Virgin Mary throughout the month of May on May 12, 2024.

The festivities commenced with a procession at 4:30 PM, as colorful floats adorned with flowers and adorned participants filled the streets, showcasing the community’s rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted faith.

This year’s event was led by the esteemed Hermano Mayor, Engr. Rowan George T. Del Rosario, alongside Atty. Mara Clara M. Estrella as Hermana Mayor with the theme, “Nagkakaisang Sambayanan, si Maria ay Pinasasalamatan,” beautifully encapsulated the essence of the occasion, highlighting the importance of unity and gratitude toward the Blessed Mother.

The Santacruzan, a significant event in Catholic tradition, is a floral procession that symbolizes the search of Saint Helena for the True Cross.

It serves not only as a religious observance but also as a celebration of community spirit and devotion. Participants wore traditional attire, creating a colorful tapestry that reflected the diversity of the parishioners.

As articulated in the event’s message, “Gaya ng solihiya, hinabi ang pananampalataya natin sa mahal na Ina,” the celebration intertwined the community’s faith in the beloved Mother Mary, fostering connections among the attendees.

It was a day filled with joy, reverence, and gratitude, culminating in a beautiful tribute to Maria, where the spirit of devotion and cultural pride shone brightly. The Grand Santacruzan reaffirmed the community’s commitment to faith and unity, making it a memorable occasion for all who participated.
