TANAY, RIZAL– To further amplify the conservation efforts for the church, Arch. Roy De Guzman presented the final draft of the Conservation Management Plan (CMP) of San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tanay on September 13, Friday.
Held at the Mayor’s office in the Tanay Municipal Building, the meeting focused on seeking approval and recommendations to refine the CMP and address the concerns around its contents.
The presentation involved key persons including Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado, the parish priest; Sis. Lina Tanjuatco, Parish Pastoral Council President; Mayor Lito Tanjuatco; and cultural mapping officers.
The municipal planning office and local parishioners were also present, providing input on the plan’s implementation.
Arch. De Guzman outlined the CMP’s goal to restore and unify the church’s structure, prioritizing architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical concerns.
He noted that while the proposals are still under review by the bishop, National Commission for Culture and Arts, and other relevant agencies, they are not yet finalized.
He also highlighted the LGU’s role in enhancing the church’s conservation through local policies on tourism and infrastructure.
With local approval, the parish will now present the CMP to Bishop Ruperto Santos, D.D., and subsequently invite the National Commission for Culture and Arts and other cultural agencies for the final review.
