TANAU, RIZAL– The Parish Youth Ministry of San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish staged a touching and innovative performance of Panunuluyan 2024 on the evening of December 24.

Held inside the church, just before the 8 PM Christmas Eve Mass, the event was a special tradition that beautifully combined the spirit of Christmas with the vibrancy of today’s world.

The Panunuluyan, a reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, is an annual tradition of the parish’s Youth Ministry.

This year, the youth added a modern twist to the age-old nativity story, reflecting how the sacred event resonates in the present day.

The actors, including a group of little angels, brought their own creative interpretation to the nativity scene, bridging the gap between ancient and modern-day expressions of faith.

A significant highlight of this year’s Panunuluyan was the participation of the Misa Chorale de San Ildefonso.

For the first time, the choir performed live within the play itself, adding a harmonious touch to the reenactment.

Their angelic voices echoed through the church, elevating the emotional impact of the performance and adding a deeper sense of reverence to the occasion.

The event was part of the Christmas Eve celebrations, which continued with the solemn 8 PM Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado, the parish priest.

This year’s Panunuluyan was a heartfelt reminder of the enduring significance of the Christmas story, bringing together the parish youth, the choir, and the entire congregation in a celebration of faith, tradition, and community.
