TANAY, RIZAL –  In a historic and joyous development for the faithful of Tanay, Rizal, the revered image of Virgen La Purísima Concepción de Tanay, Secondary Patroness of the San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish, has been granted the honor of an Episcopal Coronation.

The decree of coronation was formally issued by His Excellency, the Most Rev. Ruperto Cruz Santos, D.D., Bishop of Antipolo.

This significant act affirms the deep devotion of the people of Tanay to the Blessed Virgin Mary and acknowledges the long-standing veneration of the image under the title La Purísima Concepción.

The date for the Solemn Episcopal Coronation will be announced in the coming days, with the faithful eagerly awaiting this once-in-a-lifetime ecclesiastical celebration.

The Episcopal Coronation is a recognition of the enduring faith and Marian devotion of the community, and it further solidifies the image’s place in the spiritual life of the parish. Such coronations are rare and are reserved for images with a significant historical and devotional legacy.

The San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish, one of the oldest churches in the province, is expected to host numerous liturgical and community events leading up to the coronation. Pilgrims and devotees from across Rizal and neighboring provinces are anticipated to attend the solemn occasion.

As preparations begin, the parish calls on all devotees to pray for the continued guidance and blessings of the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of La Purísima Concepción, that her intercession may lead the faithful closer to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
