TANAY, RIZAL, PHILIPPINES – The final draft of the Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the parish has been completed and presented by the RDG Ecclesiastical Services to the parishioners on Saturday, August 10.

The CMP, which was started and approved last August 2023 by Most Rev. Ruperto C. Santos, D.D., aims to ensure the ongoing protection, maintenance, and restoration of the church, safeguarding its legacy for future generations.

Under the leadership of Arch. Roy de Guzman, the plan includes comprehensive reports on the church’s stability, resources, artifacts, and structural plans.

It also gathers essential data on the church’s structure, laying out strategies for restoring historical elements such as ceiling paintings, renovating the floors, and integrating traditional features to enhance its beauty.

Given its status as a National Cultural Treasure, any proposed changes required approval from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, which has been duly obtained.

The CMP follows a structured six-part cycle: Invitation, Assessment, Options, Project Development, Implementation, and Operation.

As of now, the initial four phases have been successfully completed and the next steps will involve implementing the plan, contingent upon the parish’s funding availability.

By addressing the church’s unique needs and involving the community in its conservation, the CMP plays a crucial role in preserving the church’s historical and cultural legacy, ensuring it remains a testament to the rich heritage of Tanay, Rizal, and the Philippines through diligent plan implementation.

Architect Roy De Guzman of RDG Ecclesiastical Services presents the final draft of the Conservation Management Plan in front of the organizations and committees of the parish on August 10.
