TANAY, RIZAL – San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish in Tanay, Rizal, celebrated the relaunch of the “Pondo ng Pinoy” initiative during the Sunday mass on September 22, 2024, emphasizing its purpose of community outreach and support for those in need.

The event featured an engaging performance by Pondo ng Pinoy kids, who danced to a classical song, reflecting the initiative’s vibrant and inclusive spirit.

Originally launched in 2004 by Archbishop Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, “Pondo ng Pinoy” is designed to foster generosity and solidarity within the community.

The program encourages parishioners to contribute to a communal fund by depositing coins or cash into specially distributed plastic bottles.

These contributions play a crucial role in funding outreach programs that assist those facing hardships, ensuring that help reaches the most vulnerable members of the community.

During the relaunch, parishioners received the plastic bottles, which they can fill with any amount, whether coins or paper cash.

These offerings can be made during any mass at the parish, reinforcing a culture of giving and communal responsibility.

The funds collected are directed towards various outreach initiatives, including education, healthcare, and emergency relief, directly impacting the lives of those in need.

As the parish reembraces “Pondo ng Pinoy,” it aims to deepen its commitment to outreach and compassion, inspiring members to actively participate in uplifting their neighbors and fostering a stronger, more supportive community.
