TANAY, RIZAL – The revered image of Our Lady of Aranzazu from San Mateo, Rizal arrived at San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish on April 27, 2025, as part of a diocesan pilgrimage promoting deeper Marian devotion and awareness of the image’s spiritual significance.
The visit formally began with the Solemn Rite of Acceptance held at 8:30 AM, followed by a Holy Mass attended by parishioners, church workers, and devotees.
In the afternoon, a procession was held at 4:30 PM, with the image of Our Lady carried through the streets of Tanay as parishioners walked in prayer and reverence.
The event served as a public expression of faith, with many coming out to welcome the Blessed Mother into their community.
The visit of the image is part of a broader journey across the Diocese of Antipolo, with the goal of bringing the devotion to Our Lady of Aranzazu closer to the faithful in various parishes.
Throughout the week, a series of spiritual activities will be held to help the community reflect on Mary’s role in the life of the Church and in the lives of believers.
On May 1, a Marian Talk will be held in conjunction with the Opening of Flores de Mayo 2025, focusing on Mary’s significance in Catholic teaching and devotion.
A Rosario Cantada, a sung version of the Holy Rosary, will take place on May 3, providing an opportunity for contemplative and communal prayer.
The visit will conclude with a Farewell Mass on May 4, as the image continues its pilgrimage to other churches in the diocese.
Parish priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host the image and for the strong turnout and support from the community. He encouraged parishioners to take part in the remaining activities and allow this time to be one of spiritual renewal.
The parish continues to invite all devotees and families to join in the celebration and deepen their relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary, who, through every image and title, always points the faithful toward Christ.
