TANAY, RIZAL – A significant step towards preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Tanay was taken on November 28, 2024, as a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the local parish church was presented to key representatives from national cultural agencies.
The presentation was held at the Tanay Parish, where stakeholders gathered to review and discuss the finalization of the plan before it is submitted for approval.
The meeting was led by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado, Parish Priest of Tanay, alongside Ar. Roy De Guzman, a specialist in ecclesial architecture from RDH Ecclesial Architecture, and Sis. Lina Tanjuatco, President of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC).
They were joined by representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the National Museum of the Philippines, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) Tourism Office of Tanay.
The primary objective of the presentation was to discuss the details of the CMP, which outlines strategies for the preservation of the parish church’s historical, cultural, and architectural significance.
The meeting focused on gathering feedback and refining the plan before it is finalized for approval by the involved national and local agencies.
The CMP is expected to guide future conservation efforts, ensuring the long-term preservation of the parish church, which is a key cultural landmark in Tanay.
The church, with its historical value, attracts both religious devotees and heritage enthusiasts.
The input gathered from the meeting will be incorporated into the final version of the CMP.
Details of the discussion and any recommended changes will be made available to the public soon.
Once approved, the CMP will serve as the official framework for preserving the church, addressing both structural and aesthetic concerns while honoring its cultural significance in the community.
