TANAY, RIZAL – The San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish officially opened its Flores de Mayo 2024 celebration on May 1, marking the beginning of a month dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The festivities commenced with a Marian Talk designed to deepen understanding of the significance behind the cherished tradition.

During the Marian Talk, participants reflected on the profound connection between Mary and her son, Jesus. “Where the mother is, the child is also present,” resonated with many attendees, emphasizing the importance of devotion to Mary as a pathway to Christ.

As part of the opening ceremony, praying of the holy rosary was led by the parish’s Hermano and Hermana Mayor, together with the “sagala”, inviting the community to come together in faith and reverence.

Parishioners are encouraged to show their love and devotion by offering flowers to Mary throughout May. “Let’s not just visit the church to see Mary, but also to ensure she sees us,” a sentiment that reflects the spirit of Flores de Mayo.

The parish community looks forward to a month filled with devotion and celebration, inviting everyone to participate in the activities to strengthen their faith and connection to Mary. #FloresDeMayo2024
