ANTIPOLO CITY, PHILIPPINES – In a recent circular letter issued by Most Rev. Ruperto C. Santos, D.D., Bishop of Antipolo, the Diocese of Antipolo has announced the implementation of a new Hospitalization Fund Scheme aimed at supporting the health and well-being of its clergy.

The scheme, which also mandates PhilHealth membership for all priests, is set to provide significant financial assistance in times of medical need.

The diocese will cover 80% of hospitalization expenses, with the remaining 20% to be covered by the individual priest. Additionally, PhilHealth membership will be compulsory for all priests, ensuring comprehensive health coverage.

The memorandum emphasizes the importance of this initiative in alleviating the financial burdens associated with medical care.

Priests who refuse to enroll in PhilHealth will be responsible for the portion of hospitalization expenses that PhilHealth would have covered, in addition to their usual 20% responsibility.

Bishop Santos expressed gratitude for the cooperation and understanding of the clergy, urging them to support each other in their ministry and service to God and His people.

The circular also provides guidelines for priests regarding PhilHealth membership coordination with the Human Resource and Development Department (HRDD).

This move by the Diocese of Antipolo underscores its commitment to the health and welfare of its clergy, ensuring that they have access to necessary medical care without undue financial strain.
