Barangay Tabing-Ilog hosts 5th Monthly Devotion to San Ildefonso

TANAY, RIZAL– Parishioners and residents once again gathered for the 5th Monthly Devotion in honor of San Ildefonso de Toledo hosted by Barangay Tabing-Ilog on August 23.
The celebration, which is done every 23rd of the month, began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to seek the intercession and blessings of San Ildefonso and La Purisima Concepcion, the town’s secondary patroness, during this time of prayer.
After the Holy Mass, community members shared personal testimonies of grace and answered prayers, underscoring the saint’s significant role in their lives.
It was then followed by the cultural highlight of the devotion which was the dance known as “Pasayaw kay San Ildefonso,” performed in honor of the saint.The image of San Ildefonso and his relic, and La Purisima Concepcion were then carried through the streets of Barangay Tabing-Ilog for the short procession around the barangay as it go back to the church.
As the images traveled to various barangays each month, with Barangay Tabing-Ilog hosting in August, it remained a symbol of unity and faith.
The monthly devotion not only aims to strengthen the community’s spiritual foundation but also to foster bonds of solidarity and preserved cultural traditions.
