Since childhood, I’ve known San Ildefonso to be our Patron Saint here in Tanay.

I’m an occasional church goer growing up, and I always see to it to visit and pray to San Ildefonso. Then, there comes a time in my life when I began to like someone in my neighborhood. He was only three houses away from my house and so I always see him when he passes by.

Me going to church becomes more and more frequent so I could pray to San Ildefonso in my own little way. Quietly, just sitting and talking to him to please let “Boy Bilo” my neighbor, be my husband. As a young adult, I’m so specific in all my prayers so much so that I had to say his name always even though I can feel that it’s a one-sided feeling because, I know, he had many girlfriends. We’re just neighbors and that’s it.

To make the long story short, constantly and regularly praying to my patron saint, my fervent prayer was answered and I’m now happily married to my husband (my neighbor) of fifty-two (52) years.

I consider him, as God’s gift to me and I attribute this first to God with the help and aid of San Ildefonso. My heartfelt thanks to him for helping me.

I’m Mrs. Yolanda F. Catameo of Tanay, Rizal, 72 years old with four grown-ups and married children, except for my youngest daughter who is single, with nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
