Funerals
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
— Revelation 21:4
What is a Funeral Mass?
A funeral Mass in the Catholic Church is a sacred liturgical service held to honor and pray for the deceased. It typically includes readings from Scripture, prayers for the deceased and their loved ones, the celebration of the Eucharist, and a homily reflecting on the hope of eternal life. The funeral Mass provides an opportunity for family, friends, and the faith community to gather in prayerful remembrance, offering comfort and support to those who mourn while entrusting the departed into God’s mercy and love.
