TANAY, RIZAL – Despite the light rain brought by Typhoon Kristine, San Ildefonso de Toledo Parish pushed through with the celebration of the Monthly Devotion to San Ildefonso at Barangay Wawa on October 23.
The devotion, which is held every 23rd of the month, aims to spread awareness to each barangay in Tanay lowland about San Ildefonso, the patron saint.
Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado, parish priest, led the holy mass at the covered court of the barangay.
In his homily, Fr. Delatado stressed the importance of having a strong devotion to the patron saint and that it starts within everyone’s selves.
After that, the mass was then followed by a short procession around the vicinity of the barangay together with the images of San Ildefonso, his relic, and the image of La Purisima Concepcion.
The monthly devotion to the patron saint was expected to be celebrated every month until the feast day on January 23 and will continue again after.
