Features on the Parish

In our #MuseumFromHome and #BuiltTraditionThursday series, we are featuring the built tradition in religious architecture introduced by the Franciscans during the Spanish colonial period in Tanay, Rizal. The Church of San Ildefonso also known as Tanay Church in Tanay, Rizal is considered an architectural built heritage in the province.

That Sunday morning, I woke up early with an extra ounce of energy and determination. I was like telling myself, “You go girl! You are going far east today!”. Tanay is roughly about two hours away from Pasig (I’m taking public transportation).

After spending our time marveling the beauty of the windmills in Pililla (Check : A Day Trip in Rizal : Pililla Wind Farm), we went to our first real destination in Tanay ~ The Saint Ildefonsus Of Toledo Parish or more commonly known as the Tanay Church!
