A Conservation Management Plan (CMP) is a strategic document designed to guide the conservation and management of a heritage site. It provides a detailed overview of the site’s historical significance, current condition, and the factors that could threaten its preservation.
While the plan includes some renovation proposals, its primary focus is on identifying and addressing issues related to the architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing systems of the parish. These concerns will be prioritized during implementation.
It’s important to note that the CMP is an evolving process. Even though a final draft is available, proposed renovations and additions will not proceed without approval from the National Commission for Culture and Arts and consultation with parishioners to ensure transparency and community involvement. Although the term “renovation” is not specifically mentioned in the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009 (Republic Act No. 10066), the principles of conservation and restoration encompass renovation activities. These principles ensure that such work respects the historical and cultural integrity of the site.
We welcome any questions, clarifications, or suggestions you may have. Please feel free to reach out directly to the parish office with your concerns.
