The program “Kalinga ni San Ildefonso” embodies the parish’s mission to make the compassionate love of Christ visible and concrete in the life of the community. Inspired by our patron, San Ildefonso, who was known for his humility, wisdom, and deep concern for the Church, this program seeks to respond to the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of the marginalized and the different sectors in the community.
The word “Kalinga” expresses care, compassion, and accompaniment. It reminds us that Christian discipleship is not only about prayer and worship but also about living the Gospel through acts of mercy. As Pope Francis teaches, the Church must be a “field hospital” that tends to the wounds of the world with love and tenderness.
Through Kalinga ni San Ildefonso, our parish becomes that field hospital — reaching out to those in need and bringing them closer to the healing presence of Christ.
This initiative unites all parish ministries, organizations, and parishioners in a shared mission of service. It invites everyone to live out the spirit of stewardship, sharing time, talent, and treasure for the good of others. In doing so, Kalinga ni San Ildefonso becomes not just a social service program but a way of being Church — a caring community that listens, serves, and uplifts, where no one feels alone, abandoned, or forgotten.
